So you are preparing the requirements for your passport photo and you want to make sure that you get the measurements and everything else correct. For sure, the wrong kind of photo will hamper your application for a passport. The right information will help you avoid this complication. Below are the qualities your passport photo should have according to the Department of Foreign Affairs.
1. The standard passport photo size is 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm. Anything more or less than this size than this will be unacceptable.
2. Your facial image size in the photo should be not less than 3 cm.
3. The background of a passport photo is royal blue.
4. You should wear a collared shirt or blouse in the photo. Wearing a business coat would be a good option also but is not required.
You will need three (3) copies for your passport application. The DFA has the right to reject photos that do not comply with specifications and international standards so make sure that you follow them.
