OFW's who come home to the Philippines start worrying once the plane taxies on the tarmac of the NAIA. The source of their worry? Their numerous boxes and luggage. These are usually filled to the brim with all the stuff they had painstakingly gathered and kept for their loved ones.
There was a time when OFW's couldn't leave the airport to meet their loved ones wating outside without divesting themselves of some of their property. Thankfully, changes are being instituted in the local airport sector and incidents like these have been dealt with. Although there may still be occasions where unscrupulous personnel create trouble for OFW's, these may be isolated cases.
As Bob Dylan said “...these times are a-changing..” Hopefully, the changes that come will mean higher standards, especially for our airport services. May each OFW's coming back home to the Philippines be joyous occasions, free from airport hassles, and filled with love.
